This autumn, Sala Apolo 2 hosts an explosive night of garage rock and punk featuring two bands that leave no one indifferent: The 5.6.7.8’s, straight from Tokyo, and Radioactivas, showcasing the strongest of Barcelona punk.
THE 5.6.7.8’s
Globally known for their appearance in Kill Bill Vol. 1 by Quentin Tarantino, where they perform the iconic track “Woo Hoo”, The 5.6.7.8’s are much more than a one-hit wonder. This Japanese trio, active since 1986, masterfully blends 60s garage rock with influences from rockabilly, surf rock, and vintage sounds ranging from the 50s to the 80s. Their energetic, raw, and carefree style has earned them a loyal fan base worldwide. With a retro aesthetic, distorted guitars, and a rebellious attitude, they remain an essential reference in Japanese garage rock.
RADIOACTIVAS
As luxury opening acts, Radioactivas bring the wildest and most electrifying punk from Vallès, Barcelona, and nearby areas. Formed in 2014 after a Giuda concert, this quintet mixes influences from bands like Babes in Toyland, L7, The Stooges, The Cramps, Parálisis Permanente, or Desechables. Their sound is direct, sharp, and uncompromising, with lyrics and an attitude that embody the most authentic riot girl spirit. A burst of punk energy that has the audience on their feet from the first chord.
